A young man with an extensive criminal record has been arrested in Mendoza on charges of being part of the band that days ago robbed a corvo saber from 1898 from the Las Heras Historical Field. Although authorities reported that the saber has no commercial value, it is historically valuable as it was donated by the Mar del Plata Patriotic Museum. The Mendoza Police confirmed that in recent hours, one of the accused in the robbery at the El Plumerillo Historical Field in Las Heras was arrested. The robbery occurred on the night of Saturday, January 3, when criminals entered the premises and stole the saber, as well as a wooden replica of a musket. The stolen saber was reportedly hidden under a vehicle parked on a public road. Following the discovery, the mayor of Las Heras, Francisco Lo Presti, held a press conference at the Historical Field where he confirmed the operation, the arrest, and the recovery of the stolen item. He also thanked all those involved in the investigation for their commitment and professionalism. "As the mayor of Las Heras, I want to highlight that we have the responsibility for the custody and care of the Sanmartinian heritage. It is not only heritage of Las Heras, it is heritage of all of Mendoza and all of Argentina. That is our responsibility and also our pride," he stated.
